Frances Tells a Joke and Exhibits Some Self-Esteem
Frances says: "What did the stamp say to the letter?"
Mommy: "I don't know."
Frances: "Stick with me and we'll go places."
The End
And consider this exchange between Frances and I:
Frances (as she's watching struggle to negotiate the stroller through a door I'm trying to keep open): "You wish I would be more helpful, huh?"
Me (slightly annoyed): "Yes, Frances, that would be nice."
Frances: "Too bad. This is me, Mommy and you love me just the way I am."
Of course she was then made to be extremely helpful.
